About Abbeyfield Reading Society

Find out all you need to know about us as a Society and our home in the centre of Reading.

Welcoming residents into our community

The Abbeyfield Reading Society Limited is a charity that was set up in 1961. Our trustees share responsibility for the charity and must act in its best interests. As a not-for-profit organisation the best interests of our residents are at the heart of everything we do.

We run a small care home in the centre of Reading called Abbeyfield House. We help older people to live as independently as possible by providing care, support and companionship, in a warm and friendly environment.

The society's ethos is to offer a friendly and reliable service for all of our residents and also for our home to be a valued member of our local community.
